Codes of Gender typically refer to the unwritten rules and expectations that society has established for how we should present ourselves, behave, and interact with others based on their gender. Gender Codes include dress code in the sense that expectations around clothing, accessories, and grooming are based on gender. It also includes different verbal and nonverbal communication, such as tone, language, and body language. Verbally in the sense that females are said to be more verbally expressive and emotive, they use more words and ask more questions, and engage in more conversations, and often use indirect language, hinting and suggestions.
